Manta™ is a software tool for high-speed propulsion that enables the modeling and optimization of a supersonic combustion ramjet (scramjet). Its capability provides designers insight into performance characteristics while also delivering a geometry definition, which includes the inlet, isolator, combustor, and nozzle.
Manta™ facilitates full analysis of the end-to-end system or analysis of individual components. Its cutting-edge system is designed with user accessibility and customizability at the forefront, offering more intuitive input and output formats than alternative codes, and includes features such as:
- Resultant parametric CAD geometry definitions
- State-of-the-art isolator modeling technology
- Capable of assessing engine thermal balance and estimating mass
- Built-in Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) optimizer with user-defined constraints
- Multi-threaded execution for batch runs and optimization capability
- Unit conversion support (English, metric)
At its core, Manta™ reflects the ingenuity and complexity of the community’s need for a better, more robust, and holistic engine analysis and design tool to support emerging requirements for hypersonic systems.
